1. State Oversight

The state Agency of Commerce and Community Development operates the Vermont Regional Center.

The Jay Peak Resort EB-5 Visa Program has entered into a 'Memorandum of Understanding' with the Vermont Agency of Commerce and Community Development. 

Highlights of this agreement are detailed below:

  • A formally designated 'Vermont Agency of Commerce and Community Development' (VACCD) Official to oversee and monitor the projects activities
  • USCIS notified in writing of designated official outlined in point above
  • Designated VACCD Official to assure project's compliance with U.S. Immigration Law and regulations concerning investments within a regional center in the EB-5 Visa preference category
  • Formal written reports required by VACCD every 90 days upon activites of the project

Jay Peak's growth over the years has been accomplished through the use of internal financing from ski season results. The limited bed base has restricted the resort, until recently, to a one-dimensional, one-season resort with 75 full-time employees and 550 seasonal staff.

With four-season resort evolution, Jay Peak's bed base growth has accelerated. Tax changes in 1989 made second homeowners rely more on 4-season rental income than ever before, making the rental investor a great market for Jay Peak. The financial future of Jay Peak Inc. and the financial future of its employees are very bright and relies largely on the continued development of its 4-season facility and the accommodations to support it.
